Seeburger BIS

Operations

Starting

• On the central server first:
  • Login to the target system
  • Switch to the Seeburger user
  • Change to <install root>/seeburger/<app>/bin
  • Run ./bis start
• Repeat the same steps for each adapter server and any BIS Insights server.

Stopping

• Stop all adapters using ./bis stop in the bin folder of the adapter.
• Stop the Central server using the same command

Applications

• Go to the software directory under the installation.
• Update register.properties with the new DB values.
• Run register.sh

DB Values

• Use bis-dbadm.sh to edit the values in the DB.
  • This needs to be done for the Admin server and also any Insights installations.

Logging

Applications

Logs are held in the log folder, under a folder called <nodename>

Types of Log

• bis-<node>.lgw - The general log for the instance
• bis-<node>-boot.lgw - The boot log of the application, stops updating once the app is up and running.

Common Issues

Insights port is up, but gives a 404

• Check the DB URLs using bis-dbadm.sh and check that they’re correct.
